Following a recent recalculation, the difficulty of mining BTC has decreased by 3.9%. This brings the indicator down to 70.3 T.

During the timeframe between this value change and the previous one, the average hashrate was recorded at 484.17 EH/s, while the average time between blocks was 10.5 minutes.

Glassnode reports that as of January 20, the rolling average for hashrate over a period of 7 days reached 469 EH/s. As of now, it has risen to 471 EH/s.

The Hashrate Index reveals that the current hash price stands at $80.4 per PH.

It should be noted that CoinShares has evaluated the future prospects of Bitcoin miners after the halving, predicting that only a handful of companies, including Bitfarms, Iris, CleanSpark, TeraWulf, and Cormint, will be able to remain profitable.

In January, the hashrate of Bitcoin experienced a drastic 33% drop over a span of a few days due to the cold weather in Texas, which caused local miners to be disconnected from the power grid.
