Cosmos Community Wants to Reduce Inflation of Native ATOM Token to 0%
The Cosmos Hub ecosystem has initiated a vote to reduce the minimum inflation on their native ATOM token to zero.
A majority of 94.5% of community members have voted in favor of the proposal, with only 4.5% voting against it.
Currently, the quorum for this vote is set at 40%, but only 1.4% has been reached so far. The voting period will continue from January 9 to January 23.
The proposal seeks to adjust the “InflationMin” parameter to 0%, which would completely eliminate the minimum inflation rate.
Although in November 2023, the community voted to reduce the minimum inflation rate from 14% to 10%, the ultimate goal of this initiative is to remove it entirely.
According to the proposal, this change would provide more flexibility for stakeholders and investors to adjust the overall percentage of bond tokens, based on the incentives provided by the issuance level, without being tied to specific consumer network revenues.
