Australia Moves to 3rd Position in Ranking of Countries with Bitcoin ATMs

As of January 2023, the United States, Canada, and Spain held the top three spots for the largest number of cryptocurrency terminals globally.

However, in the last 12 months, Australia has surpassed Spain and moved into third place. With 27,840 and 2,896 Bitcoin ATMs in the USA and Canada, respectively, Australia has 773 terminals and Spain has 300 according to CoinATMRadar.

Poland also makes the top five with 279 terminals. In sixth place is El Salvador, which legalized Bitcoin in 2021 and currently has 215 crypto ATMs. Russia, ranking 20th with 73 Bitcoin ATMs, and Georgia, taking ninth place with 144 terminals, were also in the top countries for crypto ATM expansion.

By January 2023, the countries leading the way in expanding the crypto ATM network were Australia, Canada, Spain, and Poland.

The total number of crypto ATMs worldwide was 37,830 in January, but a year later, this number dropped to 33,483. These terminals not only support Bitcoin but also major altcoins such as Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.
