Bitcoin’s hashrate made a significant jump in the middle of the week, reaching a new all-time high of 539 exahash per second (Eh/s).

In the last 90 days, the average network computing power was 462 Eh/s. The strengthening of hashrate began last weekend, according to the Hashrate Index, and continued to rise until reaching its peak on Wednesday at 539 Eh/s.

This increase suggests that blocking intervals will be reduced, potentially leading to a positive adjustment in the difficulty of crypto mining.

Experts project a 3-5% increase in the difficulty of Bitcoin mining on December 23 due to the higher hashrate.

As of December 21, the Foundry USA mining pool accounted for 31.76% (164.24 Eh/s) of the total network capacity, while a total of 40 mining pools are currently involved in mining.

The second largest pool, AntPool, controls 24.46% (125.51 Eh/s) of Bitcoin’s hashrate and in November, miners made a record profit of $142 million from transaction fees.
