Nil Foundation Devs Introduce ZK-Rollups Using Sharding
Nil Foundation has introduced a solution called zkSharding which utilizes both ZK-Rollups and sharding technology.
This innovative approach to scaling involves merging multiple shards into a single execution level (L2).
This combination of modular and monolithic architectures is ideal for data-intensive decentralized applications (dApps). The zkSharding L2 solution will be powered by zkEVM, making it compatible with a wide range of dApps.
“We are excited to announce the availability of zkSharding to the Ethereum developer community, offering a solution for high-load and data-intensive applications like decentralized sequencers, information availability systems, exchanges, and more,” said Mikhail Komarov, CEO and co-founder of Nil Foundation.
The team behind Nil Foundation believes that zkSharding can help Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, achieve safe scalability by allowing for a throughput of 60,000 TPS or more.
Sharding has long been a planned feature for Ethereum, aiming to increase transaction speed and reduce costs by utilizing parallel processing and validation.
According to the developers, zkSharding combines different architectural principles.
