Nansen Suffers a User Data Leakage
The emails, password hashes, and some wallet addresses of 6.8% of Nansen analytics platform users were publicly leaked.
The leak was caused by a breach of a third-party data provider, according to Nansen.
Company representatives revealed that the attacker gained access to the administrator panel, where they were able to adjust account permissions.
Nansen did not disclose the identity of the third-party provider, but called for them to come forth and acknowledge their involvement.
The company added that many large corporations, such as those listed on the Fortune 500, also use this provider.
Users of the platform were advised to change their passwords and be cautious of potential phishing emails.
The Nansen team is currently investigating the incident and unauthorized access to the service has been suspended for the time being. In a separate incident, the FTX exchange reported a data leak of its users.
Information from some clients was accessed through the restructuring agent Kroll, but it was not deemed confidential.
