Connext Network Airdrop is Targeted by Hackers

Reading Time: < 1 minute

An unknown attacker has exploited an API vulnerability and conducted a Sybil attack against the Connext Network airdrop, resulting in the wallet receiving a large amount of NEXT tokens through more than 200 applications.

The attacker sold the coins for a total of over $39,000. This caused a problem with token distribution since it was limited to one transaction per address.

The attacker’s malicious activity overloaded the server of Connext’s partner and service provider, Tokensoft. Connext co-founder Arjun Bhuptani noted that there was a lot of misinformation being spread on social networks and recommended that users wait for an official statement from the project.

The project team is actively addressing the issue to ensure that applications are submitted normally.
