Sam Bankman-Fried Wants to Be Released to Prepare for Trial
Lawyers for the former head of the collapsed FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), have submitted a petition to the court to protest the harsh conditions of their client’s detention and to plead for his “temporary release.”
The team of lawyers has also stressed the necessity of their client having access to important online documents as SBF declared himself not guilty.
An examination of the pre-trial investigation on the 4 million page report consisting of terabytes of data has been provided by the prosecution.
The defense further stated that due to the bunk, the accused had invested 80 to 100 hours each week in scrutinizing the case along with his attorneys; having such limited time, it appears to be an impossible mission to review the millions of documents before the trial date of October 2.
Presently, the former CEO of the stock exchange is granted access to a laptop for six hours each week in the courthouse, though the lawyers have denounced certain issues such as the laptop’s short battery life, lack of charging outlet, and weak internet connection.
The release of SBF, previously granted and freed on $250 million bail, was annulled by the court and the accused is in custody until the next hearing.
