Lazarus Hackers Store 1,580 BTC in Six Addresses
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has discovered that six wallets are linked to North Korean hacker group, Lazarus.
At the current rate, these 1,580 Bitcoins are estimated to be worth $40 million.
Aside from Lazarus, APT38 may also be in possession of the cryptocurrency.
Estimations indicate that the two hacker networks are potentially responsible for the theft of nearly $200 million worth of cryptocurrency, taken from Alphapo, Atomic Wallet and CoinsPaid users in 2023.
The FBI has since released the respective addresses of the wallets associated with Lazarus, which has rarely been spoken of in more positive terms due to its staggering theft of approximately $2 billion worth of digital currencies throughout its targeted hacks of DeFi protocols and exchange wallets.
