In March 2023, Bloomberg reported that the US stock exchange Nasdaq was intending to launch a platform for operations with digital currencies, meant to be completed by the end of the second quarter of the same year.

CEO Adena Friedman has stated that they had decided not to pursue licensing for now, but will keep working with blockchain startups aiming to expand the cryptocurrency infrastructure.

Friedman also revealed they will back partnerships between these startups and potential ETF issuers.
