Pakistan Will Ban All Crypto Transactions

The Pakistani government announced at the beginning of 2022, a ban on crypto transactions and a push for blockchain companies out of the country.

Finance Minister Aisha Ghaus Pasha has reaffirmed the tough stance, stating that digital currencies would never be legalized in the country and that all financial regulators would soon issue a joint document banning crypto trading as well as the operation of crypto companies.

This decision had full support from the Senate Finance Committee, the Ministry of Finance, the State Bank of Pakistan, and the Ministry of Information Technology, due to concerns that virtual currencies could be used by criminal structures and terrorist organizations to violate anti-money laundering laws.
