Canada’s Central Bank Initiates Discussions on its CBDC

The Bank of Canada has initiated a public discussion on the potential launch of a digital version of the Canadian dollar (CBDC).
Expressing their positive stance on the matter in 2021, the Central Bank stated that the introduction of the token into the financial system of the country would accelerate digitalization and improve the access to banking services.
People and organizations are welcome to share their opinions and opinions before June 19, 2023.
Moreover, the Bank of Canada is researching the experience of other countries who are in the process of launching CBDC.
Despite this, the authorities will not abandon cash as citizens will still be able to choose which form of payment to use.
