Hacker Withdraws $23M from Crypto Exchange Bitrue
Bitrue, a Singapore-based crypto exchange, has confirmed that a hacker attack has occurred and resulted in the withdrawal of assets worth around $23 million.
Assets such as ETH, QNT, GALA, SHIB, HOT, and MATIC were stolen.
The compromised wallet contains less than 5% of the total funds, and the remainder remains secure.
Bitrue is currently conducting a security check and has suspended withdrawals, which is expected to restart on April 18.
The exchange has stated that all affected users will be compensated for their losses.
According to Arkham, the total damage from the attack is estimated to be $24.2 million. Most of the stolen funds were kept in SHIB and HOT, while 8,858 ETH were exchanged.
