Gemini to Launch Overseas Derivatives Operation
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss’ US-based crypto exchange Gemini may be looking to launch an international cryptocurrency derivatives exchange.
This platform would offer perpetual futures, a derivative that is prohibited for retail traders in the US due to its indefinite expiration date and the potential for significant leverage.
This news follows the bankruptcy of FTX crypto exchange, as well as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) lawsuit against Binance for violating US derivatives law.
As a result, the market for international derivatives trading could potentially open up for other exchanges.
