El Salvador Will Open a Bitcoin Embassy in the US
El Salvador has announced it is opening a BTC embassy in the United States.
According to the head of the diplomatic mission of El Salvador in the United States, Milena Mayorga, this project is being implemented as part of a large-scale program for the global popularization of digital currency. The Bitcoin embassy of the Latin American state will be opened in Texas.
She has held talks with Assistant Secretary of State Joe Esparza. Several options for cooperation were considered at once, including in the sphere of economy and business.
After the recognition of Bitcoin as a means of payment, the authorities of El Salvador started to increase reserves in cryptocurrency.
Last summer, the head of the Ministry of Finance, Alejandro zelaya, said that his country would not sell the accumulated Bitcoins.
