QuadrigaCX-linked BTCs Are Moved for First Time in 3 Years
Around 104 BTC valued at $1.7 million linked with bankrupt Canadian crypto exchange QuadrigaCX have been transferred from cold wallets to new addresses.
According to researcher ZachXBT, the assets have remained in the same addresses more than three years, meaning this is the first time they have been moved during this period.
QuadrigaCX’s trustee, an EY auditor, is not reportedly behind these transactions.
Recall that the exchange crashed in 2019 after the controversial death of its co-founder Gerald Cotten. He turned out to be the only holder of private keys from cold wallets, which resulted in users losing $171.5 million.
EY reported in February the same year that the exchange has lost another 103 BTC due to an unintentional error.
