Former FTX Head Agrees to Be Extradited to the US
Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of crypto exchange FTX, which last month filed for bankruptcy, has agreed to be extradited to the United States, where the authorities have accused him of fraud and money laundering.
According to Bloomberg, acting Bahamas Commissioner of Corrections Doan Cleare has said that the former FTX CEO signed the extradition papers on December 20.
According to him:
“The fight against extradition could take years. My guess is that he probably didn’t want to be here for four, five years.”
According to him, on December 21, Bankman-Fried must finally confirm his decision. After that, as expected, he will be transported to the United States on a private flight.
