US Regulator to Prevent FTX US from Buying Voyager Digital Assets
The financial regulator and the Texas Attorney General plan to prevent FTX US from buying the assets of bankrupt lender Voyager Digital.
According to the institutions, the company and its CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, are suspected of violating securities laws.
Court documents read:
“FTX US should not be allowed to buy the debtor’s assets until the SEC has had an opportunity to determine whether the exchange and its related and/or affiliated companies, including those controlled by the same management, are in compliance with the law.”
Texas Securities Board Enforcement Director Joseph Jason Rotunda has said his agency is “investigating FTX Trading, FTX US and their executives, including Sam Bankman-Fried.”
