New Kraken CEO: We Will Not Register with the SEC
New Kraken CEO Dave Ripley has said that he sees no reason to register the trading platform with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
According to him, Kraken does not offer securities to its 9 million customers. Ripley has also stated the exchange does not plan to delist tokens at the request of the SEC.
Kraken rejected in February a proposal to block the accounts of all users from Russia without legal requirements. The former CEO of the exchange, Jesse Powell, explained the position with libertarian values.
In September, Dave Ripley, who replaced him as CEO, pledged to stay on the company’s cultural path.
