Norway City Starts Battle Against Crypto Miners
The authorities and the population of the Norwegian city of Sortland have started a fight with a local mining company because of the noise it makes.
Claims from local residents arose despite the fact that KryptoVault creates jobs, and the business uses the heat generated by the equipment to dry wood and algae.
The head of the company, Kjetil Hove Pettersen, has accused the media of promoting the protest. He has said:
“Usually negative voices get the most media attention, but that doesn’t represent all local opinions.”
Grid owners are happy to partner with miners as they help balance consumption, Pettersen has said.
