Helium Project to Move to Solana Blockchain
The team of decentralized communications project Helium has made a proposal to improve the protocol. According to it, the project plans to move to the Solana blockchain.
The developers of the project have also announced other improvements, including the transfer of data transfer accounting to oracles and the confirmation of the Proof-of-Coverage (PoC) consensus algorithm, a solution that has been designed to reduce the requirements for the Helium blockchain, among other things.
Helium developers have said:
“Solana is a first layer blockchain that focuses on scalability and speed. Solana’s Proof-of-History consensus algorithm allows lightning-fast confirmation of transactions on the network without compromising security.”
The Helium team has explained it may abandon the development of its own blockchain because many options for first-level networks have appeared during recent years that can become the basis for the project.
