Russian Parliament Plans to Recognize Cryptocurrency as Property
According to the head of the Russian Parliament Committee on the financial market, Anatoly Aksakov, it is necessary not only to control all operations with digital currencies, but also to introduce a special mode of operation for miners. Citizens who mine cryptocurrency must pay taxes, and the state must introduce special energy tariffs for them.
Aksakov has said this that the Russian Parliament still expects to approve a bill by the end of the spring session that will recognize cryptocurrency as property.
According to the same document, if the amount of transactions with digital assets exceeds 600,000 rubles per year, then Russian citizens must report on crypto transactions to the Federal Tax Service.
The Russian Parliament plans to adopt this bill by the end of May.
