Larry Dean, founder of cryptocurrency mixing service Helix and CEO of Coin Ninja, has pleaded guilty to laundering over $300 million. The Ohio resident faces up to 20 years in prison and multimillion-dollar fines.

The US Department of Justice has reported that Dean has pleaded guilty to laundering more than 350,000 BTC through Helix between 2014 and 2017. He said he knew about the illegal origin of the funds and he intentionally collaborated with darknet marketplaces to offer these services to its users.

The authorities confiscated Larry 4,400 BTC (around $197 million).

While there is no date for the final verdict yet, prosecutors said they want to give Helix time to “work with the investigation.”
